I ran my blog through Wordle.net, you can see the image above. It is cool and easy. The CIT 2009 conference workshops excited me to try out some new tools. I have been experimenting with Twitter, Jing and Prezi. I like Twitter. I am following some people I admire and am learning a lot about new tools from them. You can follow me on Twitter: nehemiag. I don’t Twitter a lot but I do occasionally. I have been following Michael Wesch, on Twitter, from Kansas State University and he has been using it with his Anthropology class. He posted his student’s YouTube work on Anonymity which I really liked.
I tried out Jing but I had some problems with it so I have to try it out again. Prezi I find to be very captivating. I really like the idea of mapping out your ideas and zooming in on your ideas. I think that it takes out the linear fashion that we are so used to as educators and broadens how you can present your ideas. I plan on using it this semester in our ePortfolio demonstrations. I think it will captivate your audience in a way that PowerPoint does not. I will update you on the results. Finally I am looking into free eportfolio tools to really emphasize “lifelong learning”. Planning on posting again to show some of my creations on the aforementioned tools.
